2020: Earth Day’s 50th anniversary

On April 22, 1970, the first Earth Day event was held. An estimated 20 million people took to the streets across the U.S. to raise awareness about the impacts of human activities on the environment.

As a result of this event several positive actions took place which includes banning of chemicals, Saving whales and several other species movement, Cleaning river and regulating pesticides, Cleaning up sewage and our wastage of different kinds.

These actions result in revival of several endangered species, the bald eagle is one of them. Several international agreements also took place to protect many species worldwide.
